waaaaaay behind posting this. we'll blame it on the hard drive crash that took 2 weeks to get solved. here it tis though- 6 months!
pause to check out the shoes...
Give me a minute, and I'll work up my best smile...
is the camera ready?
TA-DA!
I love this gummy grin.
New between months 5-6:
1. Eating cereal. It takes some practice to get good at this solid food stuff. 96% of cereal meals required a bath immediately after.
2. Riding in the stroller in the "big girl seat." She was pumped. She hates being reclined back in her carseat.
3. Sitting and balancing w/her arms... and somewhat unsteadily sitting without arms.
4. Teething... or a virus... or something. We had a terrible week where she was so unhappy. So pouty. So sad. I wore her majority of the day and even during some naps. (I didn't mind.) A neighbor let me borrow their Ergo baby carrier, and I LOVED it b/c I could wear her like a backpack. She was able to take naps in it and I could cook dinner or play outside with Jack. The day she finally started feeling better I could tell because all of her smiles and giggles were back.
below: happy baby again!
oh, I'd also like to point out the razorback paci. She usually only takes it at naps and at night. And of all the paci's I tried this is the ONE. It also happens to be one-of-a-kind. We have several other razorback pacis, but none of them are shaped like this one. what to do. This is why we leave it in the crib... if we lose this puppy, it's just gone!
5. Moving to her crib! and sleeping with a body pillow. Cousin Ellie needed the bassinet and she was getting a little too big for it anyway. The problem with the crib was that she could roll on to her tummy and she hated it. Corey thought of the brilliant idea to give her a body pillow. She loves it.
6. A little separation anxiety? Charlotte cries if I leave the room for anything.
7. Loooooves her bouncy seat. She just kick, kick, kicks that left leg.
8. CHEEKS. We love her cheeks. At certain angles you can even see them poking out when you're looking at the back of her head! I also love her rolly-polly legs.
9. Finally sleeping through the night most nights! ... I take that back. We had several long nights and then a 13 hour night! and them - UH OH- she's sick for a week and now she gets up 1-2 times through the night. I feel like she's hitting another growth spurt here at the 6 months b/c she is HUNGRY.
10. Charlotte is in the pajama stage of life. I remember Jack in this stage... She's hardly awake long enough between naps to warrant gettting dressed... unless we go out. She wakes up in the morning and eats, then falls back asleep 1-1.5 hours later, then takes a long nap until lunch, then she usually goes back down again in another 1-1.5. Most days when Corey gets home she's still in her pajamas!
11. She also sampled banana. (2nd child) Jack would have never gotten a sweet tasty fruit for a first food, but we ran out of baby cereal one night and we had some bananas handy... ;) She didn't really have a reaction, she just said FEED ME.
12. Charlotte got her 1st round of shots at her 6 mo. Check up. She weighed 15 lbs. 14 oz. and she was 25.5 in long. 50% for height and weight. 3-6 mo clothes... Some 6 mo. Size 3 diapers.
13. Riding in the maya wrap- side/hip carry. spit up running down the wrap, because that has been an issue this month too.
14. Taking a few baths here and there with her brother. It's a little dangerous, so it only happens when they are both so soiled from dinner that they can only go straight to the tub. (you can kinda see the terror in C's eyes...)
15. oh, and her hair has gotten longer... just a little. enough that i can actually clip a bow in it.
I have pretty pictures for her "official" 6 month photos, but I still need to sort through them and edit them. we're just lucky we got this post up.
